Job Responsibilities

  • Work with EA peers (e.g., enterprise, business, and solutions architects) to analyze enterprise business context (business strategy and trends) to derive the technology architecture future state. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide technology roadmap decisions for the enterprise.
  • Lead the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Assist with designing the governance, assurance and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance, as well as the design of standard configurations.
  • Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Analyze the gaps between the current and future state, typically in sync with the IT budgeting or other capital planning processes, and develop macro level migration strategies.
  • Oversee, or consult on, technology implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new infrastructure solutions. Consult on application or infrastructure implementation projects to harmonize infrastructure with the enterprise technology architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise technical architecture to accommodate immediate or future project needs.
  • Maintain a balance between strategic visions and tactical solutions in order to formulate the best recommendations in accordance with Las Vegas Sands’ business needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT peers to develop innovative ideas for the resort of the future model that is consistent or additive to the business strategy and technology roadmap
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action to developers, technicians and management on technical and infrastructure issues in production when required.
  • Support the planning process by conducting cost analyses (including material, project-related work and recurring work)
  • Act as a technical vendor liaison and ensure strategic alignment of selected vendor solutions are consistent with the business strategy and technology roadmap.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advance degree in technology, engineering or human factors a plus
  • 10-15 years of relevant work experience 

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly in a multicultural, multinational environment and in cross-functional matrixed teams
  • Ability to represent information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language, including using modeling languages, developing process flows, creating data and topology diagrams, etc. 

Business Acumen and Analytical Skills

  • Understanding of business processes and basic corporate finance, management and accounting principles
  • Understanding of hospitality and gaming business processes and industry constraints (e.g., compliance) 

Security and Privacy

  • Knowledge of security framework standards: NIST, COBIT, ISO.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations such as: PCI, GLBA, SOX, Basel III
  • Experience with privacy legislation such as: HIPAA, COPPA, FCRA, GLB and GDPR
  • Experience with Information Security technologies, markets, and vendors (firewall, intrusion detection, advanced threat prevention, data loss prevention, assessment tools, encryption, PKI) 

Additional Technology Skills

  • Experience with software interaction with databases such as DB2, Oracle, MS SQL and others
  • Knowledge of UML modeling techniques and Business Process Modeling
  • Understanding of various Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies
  • Experience planning highly resilient solution designs and technologies
  • Current knowledge of Identity strategies and application integrations including; LDAP, Kerberos, SAML
  • Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols and standards
  • Wide, extensive knowledge of multiple infrastructure/application technologies including (but not limited to): Mainframe (IBM/UNISYS), Open Systems (UNIX/LINUX), Converged and Hyperconverged, Enterprise Databases, Big Data solutions, Middleware, Web services, Containers, and Application development platforms
