Docent cum Customer Service Officer (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Looking for dedicated and highly-motivated individuals to be part of an exciting team of Docents cum Visitor Service Officers

 

 

We are a leading group of companies with over 20 years’ proven expertise in history and heritage research, tours and programming. We also manage national historic sites and institutions, such as Battle Box (Fort Canning Hill), Haw Par Villa (Pasir Panjang) and NEWater Visitor Centre (Tanah Merah).

 

We are expanding our operations and are hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Docents cum Visitor Service Officers.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct high-quality guided tours and interactive activities for all levels of visitors (e.g. students and tourists)
  • Event coordination and crowd management
  • Assist with facility checks, site operations and submit administrative/operations reports
  • Perform Visitor Service Officer duties

 

Job Scope:

         

In-House Tours and Interactive Activities
- conduct daily in-house guided tours
- handle guest queries
- gather feedback on visitor experience

- perform service recovery (where necessary)

 

Retail
- cash register sales
- general in-house announcements and AV operation

- counter sales (in-house guided/audio tours and gift shop)
- registration of visitors/groups

                   

Stocktaking
- daily and end-of-month stocktakes
- stock tallying and monitoring
- handle stock deliveries and replenish items

 

Other Duties
- maintain museum decorum and general cleanliness

- maintain facility security

- crowd management

- assist in emergency evacuation/administer first aid (if needed)
- other duties as and when assigned by management

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum GCE ‘A’ Levels or polytechnic diploma
  • Undergraduates may be considered for part-time position
  • Ability to conduct in-house tours in English to liaise with respective clients
  • Proficiency in other official languages (Mandarin, Malay and Tamil) will be considered an advantage to liaise with respective clients
  • Good presentation skills
  • Pleasant personality and service-oriented
  • Computer literate
  • Work experience in similar field will be an advantage
  • Willing to work weekend shifts (5-day week)
