System Analyst, Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery

The Challenges

To assist the management and development of Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery database systems in NUHCS CTVS


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collate patient data for Adult Cardiac Surgery database
  • Track and update operation information from CPSS and financial information from SAP for CTVS databases
  • Summarize and analyze patient data from CTVS databases in REDCAP system
  • Responsible for design, setup and customization of CTVS databases in REDCAP system
  • Prepare patient data for Annual National Audit Meetings
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of data, when applicable
  • Maintain CTVS servers and CTICU databases
  • Perform system administration, including system installation, configuration and data backup & recovery
  • Ensure data system compliance by following established guidelines of PDPA and DSRB
  • Conduct research work involving CTVS database
  • Assist CTVS database team in completion and submission of research protocol and informed consent to DSRB and manage DSRB profile
  • Assist in purchase of IT-related products and services and support department events


The Requirements

  • Degree in Computing/ Computer Science/ Information Systems/life science graduate or postgraduate (Bachelor or Master Degree holder)
  • Experience in management of clinical databases and servers and/or data analysis (logistic regression, decision tree. machine learning)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Motivated and dedicated
  • A good team player
  • Proficient and good at python, R-studio, SPSS, STATA, javascript, c++, MS ACCESS, SQL, familiar with REDCAP system; know how to handle servers (windows and Ubuntu)
  • Must have interests in medical research and healthcare analytics, AI and machine learning
  • Deep learning
